work with me

SCROLL DOWN

work with me

Aside from my 1-hour mini-sessions and online courses, I work with women through longer form programs. Developing style and body acceptance and releasing the messages you’ve been given isn’t something that happens in one call or one closet editing session.

It’s an ongoing process.

We’ll work together on defining your own authentic style, releasing patriarchal conditioning, and building an authentic wardrobe. We'll talk about minimalism, mindfulness, anti-consumerism, mental health, digital minimalism, self worth, resting, toxic productivity, and how it all affects your closet. This isn’t about me being your personal shopper.

It’s about me showing you how you can discover what makes your body and soul feel amazing and then showing you how to find those things.

This program will be available in a one-on-one format or in a group program. Both are 8 weeks long.

All the info for the 1:1 program is here and rates start at $2497. If you book a mini-session ($347) and then decide to sign up for the longer program, the cost of your mini-session will be applied to the program cost.

The group program (called Making Space) is currently $797 and happens only twice a year. You can sign up for the wait list here.

style consultation

The first step in working with me is to sit down for a style consultation. When we start your first session, we won’t plunge straight into your closet. We'll chat for a while. We'll discuss your lifestyle, problems you've had with clothing in the past, how you want to look and how you want to feel when you get dressed in the morning.

Together, we’ll look at visuals that we’ll use to define your personal style. By envisioning your ideal wardrobe, we’ll create a framework for our work together. At the end of our consultation, we’ll have defined your style, planned for your day-to-day life and gotten ready for your closet cleanse.

The style consultation is a critical part of all new client packages.

closet cleanse

We start with your go-to items: pieces that you wear often, that you know will make you feel good.  I bring a wardrobe rack to the session so that we can pull your favorite pieces out of your closet and get a true feel for what you currently wear and love (and most importantly, why you love it).

This sets the standard that we’ll compare the rest of your wardrobe to.

With what remains, we work together to figure out why it isn’t working. Is the fit a problem? Do you dislike the style? Have you been holding on to it for more than a decade without even realizing it?  Are you keeping clothes from a previous era of your life, such as that business formal job you had five years ago?

This part of the process involves a lot of trying on clothes and then deciding whether they’re worthy of being tailored to fit or will need to be donated or thrown out.

Once we’ve pared everything down, we’ll rearrange and structure your closet to function efficiently. The closet cleanse can be done virtually via video call.

style notes

Once we’ve gone through the style consultation and closet cleanse, we will have learned a lot about you and your style.  After our session, I record these insights and distill them into a few key phrases for you to use going forward.

Style Notes are designed to help you stay focused and remind you of your likes, dislikes, lifestyle and style.  Along with the customized Mindful Shopping List, Style Notes give you goals to work toward and help you cut down on impulse decisions in the future.

customized mindful shopping list

After we have determined your personal style, de-cluttered your closet and made a plan to intentionally build your wardrobe, I’ll help you create a list of the holes in your wardrobe to plan for shopping.

Classic, foundational pieces that you love and perfectly fit your body and lifestyle will be the priority on your Customized Mindful Shopping List.

We’ll also take your measurements to help determine your sizes.

(note: the mindful shopping list does not include links to specific items, that is included in the personal shopping portion of the mindful shopping package)

mindful shopping

Once we have determined your style, streamlined your existing wardrobe and planned for your needs, we will schedule a personal shopping session.

If there is one thing that I hope you learn while working with me, it’s that shopping should not be mindless.

Instead of always looking for the next new thing, save that time and energy for what's really important in your life.

For virtual styling clients, we’ll do a shopping tutorial session where I take you through how I shop online. I’ll then do several hours of personal shopping for you. Using the framework we created in the cleanse, I choose pieces that fit your ideal wardrobe and complete your collection.

Without having to do any of the searching, you receive a list of items to order online and then we’ll get together for a try-on session.

Either way, mindful shopping is a process that takes time. It’s realistic to try on many items and only have a few that match your framework. Most people give up before they get there. Since I do half the work for you, you’ll have the energy to keep going until we find what you need.

digital lookbook

One of my greatest priorities is to empower you to feel confident in your style long after our session.

In order to help you continue to use the insights uncovered in your style consultation, closet cleanse and while planning for shopping, I can create a digital lookbook for you.

The lookbook helps you remember the clothes in your closet and gives us the opportunity to collaborate on new looks and items on an ongoing basis. See how the digital lookbook works in detail here.

how it works

But seriously, HOW do we do a online personal styling session remotely? We can use Skype, FaceTime, or Zoom (a video conferencing platform), whichever you’re most comfortable with. The only special thing you need to do is have a way you can show me clothes without holding a phone in your hand. You'll want to have a stationary setup for your laptop or iPad where your closet is located so that you can be moving around and holding up items to show me. I’ll also send you specific directions on how to prep for our session. Even though we might be thousands of miles apart, you’d be surprised how quickly we forget that we’re not actually in the same room!

will online personal styling work for me?

Virtual personal styling works best if you're comfortable with lots of communication over email as well as by FaceTime, Skype, or Zoom. You need to either have a Pinterest style board or be willing to create one. Since we’ll be bringing the dressing room to you (via ordering many options online), you’ll need to be able to manage the online orders and returns. Sound good? Go here to book.

I had tried services like Stitch Fix and Trunk Club but I didn’t feel like either service was really helping me develop my own style. I wanted a style that was uniquely mine and not mimicking current trends. I also wanted to minimize the size of my wardrobe and get more out of each piece of clothing I owned. The best part about working with Dacy was that she wasn’t trying to sell me clothing. Instead, she took the time to look through the clothes I had and worked with me to figure out which pieces accomplished my style goals. She showed me how to create more outfits with the clothes in my closet. She also helped me feel good about getting rid of a lot of things. She made me feel like I could shop and create outfits in a smart and stylish way on my own. I am now wearing many different outfits that I feel great in and most of it is stuff I already owned. I had felt like I spent a lot of time and money on clothes that I barely wore and now I feel like I get to have a lot more fun with my clothes without spending lots of money and accumulating lots of stuff. I would recommend Dacy’s services to anyone who wants to become more fashionable in a simple and mindful way. -Anne

common questions

common questions

IMG_6762.jpg

Q:  Will I have to try clothes on during our session?

A: Yes, absolutely. Fit is one of the most over-looked aspects of style and it is crucial to helping us make the best choices for your wardrobe.  Trying on clothes and talking about likes and dislikes is often a fun and empowering part of this process!

Q: What if I’m not in St. Louis?

A: No problem! I actually only work with clients virtually via Zoom. You’ll get all the same deliverables such as the style consultation, closet cleanse, customized shopping list, digital lookbook, and more.

Q:  I'm a tough size/fit. Are you sure you'd be able to make it work for me?

A: The majority of my clients come into our sessions thinking that they're a tough size or fit. As a result, I've developed an expertise for dressing a variety of body types and sizes.
